Al-hamdulillah, we have purchased the Union Pub, a 3 storey building on Berners Street, Lozells, Birmingham. With the help of our members and our well wishers we have raised £180,000 from donations and Qard Hasana to pay for the building in full. We raised a further £55,000 from qard hasana and donation for renovation work, which is almost now complete on the ground floor- a new prayer hall, 2 classrooms/prayer area and wudu and 3 toilets (one with Arab toilet and shower) have been completed. We have installed new central heating throughout the building. Work on the first floor has started to provide a multi purpose hall, sister's prayer room/classroom and office area, toilet and wudu facility. This will be finished in 2 week insha-Allah. The 2nd floor is being used by Community Foundation to provide a range of services to the local community. We need £65,000 to pay off the balance of the qard Hasana and finish off the remaining work. The mosque will open on Monday 20 February 2012. Our first jama'ah will be performed at Zuhr (1.15pm) Please come and join us for this and every prayer thereafter. Our first Juma'ah prayer on Friday will be lead by the Imam of East London Mosque- Molana Abul Hussain. We have appointed an interim Imam- Molana Mahbubul Hoque who will be leading the jama'ah and delivering our tarbiya programmes.

MUSALLAH APPEAL We will be fitting prayer carpets in all the prayer rooms. This is a good cause for you to get involved. You can pay for 1 Musallah space under your name or any other name. You can also donate a Musallah space for a deceased relative as sadaqah jaariyah in their name. You can pay for as many Musallah as you want.The cost for one Musallah space is £100.
